"Broa de Avintes"

"Broa de Avintes" is a type of bread made in Avintes which is quite consumed in northern Portugal. It is clearly one of the most prized delicacies of portuguese cuisine and probably, the most famous bread of ours.
It is a dark brown and very dense bread made with cornmeal and rye and honey. It has a particularly slow production process: bake about five to six hours in the oven. Once cooked, it is sprinkled with flour. Generally has the shape of a bell tower.
